Why Choose Lansdowne?

Lansdowne has been a provincial provider for children and youth with Autism in Brantford and Brant County since 2003. We have provided a variety of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services throughout this time including Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI), ABA Supports and Services, groups, workshops and parent training. We see our small size as a benefit as we have the opportunity to get to know our children and families well and learn how to best suit their needs. If you do not see what you would like for your child/youth offered on this website, please contact us to see how we can best serve you.

Our Autism Services staff is an energetic and motivated team who believe in building upon the strengths demonstrated by a child in order for them to reach their full potential. We strive to involve family members into treatment planning as much as possible in order to transfer the skills that are taught within sessions into daily life. We are open to collaborating with educators, clinicians and caregivers to provide a balanced skill-set for each child.

Our Clinical Supervisors are Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA) who are registered with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. They hold a Masters Degree and are required to earn continuing education credits to stay up-to-date and expand their knowledge in Applied behaviour Analysis (ABA). A BCBA is required in order to receive Behaviour Services from the OAP. Clinical Supervisors are responsible for training and evaluating Autism Therapists on a regular basis to ensure consistency and best practices along with overseeing your child’s programming and behaviour protocols.

Most of our Autism Therapists are Registered Behaviour Technicians (RBT). They hold a college diploma and are registered with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. These clinicians work directly with clients and families and are highly skilled in delivering ABA services.

When you register for Autism Services at Lansdowne you may have access to the rest of our pediatric and youth services. Under one roof Lansdowne provides Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Child and Youth Worker, Resource and Developmental Consultants, Recreation and Respite services as well as access to a Developmental Paediatrician. This provides a comfortable and familiar place for both you and your child/youth to regularly visit.

While we are unable to provide treatment directly within schools at this time, we have developed communication pathways and processes that allow us to work with educators in local boards within Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations and Mississaugas of the Credit schools.
