The past year was one of change for the Foundation. In January 2011 we welcomed our new Fund Development Officer, Erin Helmer to the Foundation. Erin has had much success in raising support for very worthy causes in both the health and arts fields and is very enthusiastic about being a bridge for change to our donors. Erin is always available to our donors to discuss their desires and passions for change for children and youth with special needs and is happy to facilitate our donors as they create these very positive changes in our community.

Throughout the past year we were able to continue to build partnerships in order to raise funds to support the work of Lansdowne Children's Centre. The Foundation was able to continue to support the Every Kids Counts program through donations of approx $215,000. In addition we continue to raise funds for the Courtyard Playground Equipment Renewal Project.

Through the leadership of the Fund Development Officer new partnerships, revenue and gift streams continue to be established. Throughout the year, the Lansdowne Foundation received gifts from many new "third parties". Some of these donations were directed specifically to our Playground Renewal Fund.

Our recent 7^th Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride continued with success. Despite some threatening weather and a date right after Friday the 13th, we were able to attract over 200 participants. With their support, and that of many corporate sponsors we were able to close to $40,000.

We are very pleased to have wonderful support from the local media including The Brant News, The Expositor, CKPC AM and FM. We are especially thankful for the support of The Brant News in hosting our first ever Auction. We are already planning for a second annual auction this fall and look forward to your participation.

A year doesn't go by that we don't receive overwhelming support from the Rotary Club of Brantford. Once again the "Great Northern Ride" lead by our local Culligan Man and friend Bob Caissie was a resounding success raising over $150,000, with much of the proceeds supporting our Every Kid Counts Program. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of the Rotary Club of Brantford and their commitment to making a difference in the lives of the children and families in need of our services.

I would also like to thank the Foundation Board for their commitment to continuing to make a difference in the lives of the children and youth with special needs who are served by Lansdowne Children's Centre. As a board member for the Lansdowne Children's Centre Foundation I feel truly blessed to be part of team of local. I get to see first hand everyday miracles and the pure joy that a child has when they realize they have reached a milestone. I have been there to witness triumphs and at time struggles that "our kids" experience everyday.

The past year was one of continued building for the Foundation. It takes time to build a program of consistent community support through various events and programs. I think we are well on our way, but there is still much to be done. Please continue to think of Lansdowne Children's Centre when deciding where your generosity should be placed. Every dollar raised goes to help many amazing children and youth to reach their full potential.
