In-home Respite
What is the In-Home Respite Care Program?
Families supporting children with special needs are often in need of relief. This program offers families an opportunity for a break by providing a support worker to work with the child in the home or in the community.
Who is eligible?
A child 0-19 years of age with a long term physical and/or communication disability. The child requires assistance to perform physical and/or functional tasks in a manner similar to that of a non-disabled person of the same age.
What can I expect?
After a referral is received, the respite team will determine if your child is eligible for the program. Children are then given respite hours according to need.
The in-home program has a pool of support workers with a wide range of skills and experience. The co-ordinator will assist your family in finding the right match for your child.
