Every Kid Counts is a support program provided by the Lansdowne Children’s
Centre which makes it possible for children and youth with special needs to have
the opportunity to participate and be included in ANY Brant County activity.
The Every Kids Counts program provides children and youth with special needs
with peer support workers who provide hands on assistance to help modify and
individualize activities so that each and every child can participate and be
included in recreational programs of their choice be it swimming, a summer camp
program, music lessons or sports.
Every Kid Counts is an award winning program that is financially supported
entirely through community donations and specifically by our signature
fundraising event, “The Charity Motorcycle Ride”.
Every Kid Counts provided over 100 children with the opportunity to participate
in local recreational programs. Since the Ride's inception in 2005, over 500
local children and youth with special needs including physical, developmental or
communication challenges have had the opportunity to participate in recreational
programs of their choice … an option that isn’t readily available without
essential supports and equipment and over $170,000, thanks to your
participation, has been raised in support of EKC.
“We strongly believe that children with special needs, need to be children
first and it is our responsibility to provide the necessary support to help them
move toward their own unique independence.”
