Special Services At Home (SS@H)
What is Special Services at Home?
Special Services at Home is a program funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. The Ministry will award contracts for one year. Families must re-apply every year for this program (or as directed by the Ministry). A family can self-administer the contract or have Lansdowne Children's Centre administer the program until their child turns 18.
SS@H provides support for...
- 1:1 worker for personal growth and development
- 1:1 worker for respite care
- and/or the purchase of a variety of other individualized supports and services based on Ministry guidelines.
With careful thought and planning, your SS@H funds can be used to support a wider range of meaningful activities which will increase a child's experiences.
Who is eligible to use Special Services At Home?
- 0-18 years of age
- Children/youth with a physical and/or developmental disability verified by a physician.
What can I expect?
Lansdowne Children's Centre can assist you in completing your SS@H application form. Once the Ministry has issued your child an SS@H contract, a Program Supervisor will discuss how to best utilize your funding to meet the needs of your child and family. The SS@H program has a pool of Support Workers with a wide range of skills and experience. The Program Supervisor will assist the family in finding the right match for your child.
