Brantford, ON - Laura Maddison, Board Chair of Lansdowne Children’s Centre Foundation, has announced that experienced fundraiser and team leader Jennifer White has been named the next Executive Director of the organization.

Said Laura Maddison,

"Our board is thrilled to introduce Jennifer White to the staff and client families at Lansdowne. Her experience working in fundraising and health care is a wonderful fit for our organization, and an incredible asset to our efforts supporting children and youth with special needs, and their families.”

Jennifer’s resume includes more than 25 years of fundraising development experience, and leadership positions with Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation and Norfolk General Hospital. A Brantford-resident of the past 13 years, Jennifer succeeds former executive director Angela Turnbull who announced her retirement from the position earlier this year.

In addition to her professional qualifications, Jennifer also has a personal interest in seeing Lansdowne Children’s Centre Foundation grow to serve more children and families in need. During an introduction with staff she shared,

“I was really attracted to this opportunity because of a personal connection. My uncle Jack lived with cerebral palsy, and he grew up in a time when differences and disabilities were segregated, hidden away...

He didn’t have a Lansdowne to help him learn how to express himself. He was a talented musician with a piano, but he could barely write his name - a skill I helped to teach him. If I can help children and families gain access to services, and be a part of providing opportunities for kids to feel included, confident and respected, then I’ll feel like I’m honoring my Uncle Jack.”

Jennifer joins Candace Kingyens, Senior Development Officer, in the Foundation office at 39 Mount Pleasant Street, Brantford, tasked with raising financial support for critical services and programs for children and youth with special needs not funded by government services.
