Autism Services at Lansdowne Children's Centre will deliver three service option models: Social ABCs; Pivotal Response Training (PRT); and Early Social Interaction/Social Communication Emotional Regulation and Transactional Supports(ESI/SCERTS). Social ABCs This is an early intervention program in which parents learn a set of strategies for helping their Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosed toddler communicate and interact socially, using play-based activities and daily routines that their child finds most motivating. Pivotal Response Training (PRT) A variation of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) type therapy, Pivotal Response Training focuses on more comprehensive “pivotal” areas, such as increasing a child's motivation to learn, initiate communication, and monitor their own behaviors. Early Social Interaction/Social Communication Emotional Regulation and Transactional Supports The ESI/SCERTS model is a research-based educational approach and multidisciplinary framework that directly addresses the core challenges faced by children and persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disabilities, and their families. ESI/SCERTS focuses on building competence in: •Social Communication •Emotional Regulation •Transactional Support These are the highest priorities that must be addressed in any program
