MORE FROM THE EKO NEWS ROOM...

When it comes to kids with disabilities living their best lives, we don’t want anything to get in the way. That’s why we’re proud to offer the EKO Scholarship to Ontario youth who will be enrolling in accredited college, university, Indigenous institute, and career education programs in fall 2023.

We’re committed to awarding six EKO Scholarships, including one award specifically for a Canadian First Nations, Indigenous, or Métis student. Recipients of the EKO Scholarship each receive awards of $2,500 for the 2023/24 academic year.

The EKO Scholarship recognizes youth who are or have been clients of an EKO member organization.

“For more than a decade, we have been empowering Ontario youth pursuing their education and career goals, elevating social consciousness for the world’s largest minority: people with disabilities,”

says Empowered Kids Ontario CEO Jennifer Churchill.

EKO Scholars are pursuing studies and careers in law, technology, medicine and the health sciences, visual and performing arts, industrial design, early childhood education, and much more.

Applicants are asked to submit an original essay or creative project describing why the scholarship is meaningful to them, two letters of recommendation, and a letter from an EKO member verifying they received services from that organization.
