Lansdowne Families visit Apple Hill Lavender Farm in Norfolk County

Lansdowne Children’s Centre families recently had the opportunity to visit Apple Hill Lavender Farm in Norfolk County.

Families were able to enjoy a self-guided tour of the lavender fields and some of the apple trees, as well as a story time with farmer Jennifer Schooley reading the Robert Munsch classic, Mortimer, and Lansdowne Communications Coordinator and children’s author Tamara Botting reading one of her books, Big Bother Brother.

Lauren O’Neill, Lansdowne’s Family Engagement Coordinator, said, “Seeing the children captivated by the talented readings from Jenn and Tamara was a top highlight from my time with Lansdowne so far.”

She added, “We are very grateful to Farmer Jenn for opening up her beautiful space as a lovely way for our families to start their day. I very much enjoyed connecting with our client families in such a wonderful space. We are very much looking forward to ongoing programs at Apple Hill Lavender Farm and expanding accessible programs in Norfolk County to our client families.”

Jenn said she was happy to host the event, noting Apple Hill Lavender Farm is a good fit for Lansdowne families.

“It seems to naturally occur on the farm, the ability to have that inclusion and accessibility here. The grounds not only are accessible, but the space itself is inclusive. There’s a lot of space to be had, there are a lot of things to do, and there’s just that feeling of peace when you’re on this century farm that just lends to that whole inclusion and accessibility aspect,” she said.

I was chatting with a colleague about how important crisp headshots are when you are trying to build a strong personal brand online nowadays. She sent me a link to a digital marketing blog that breaks down how professional portraits can drastically change your visibility on lifestyle apps. They actually referenced the homepage of Parq Casino to show how contrasting graphics and clean typography catch attention instantly in the Canada . Presentation really dictates how people perceive you. Quite similar to my experience with a painter in Birmingham last month. He took my deposit, delayed the work for weeks, and then did a rushed job that looks completely uneven.
