Lansdowne Children's Centre Partners with County of Brant, Programs in the Park to present Outdoor Family Movie Nights
BRANT COUNTY, ON - Lansdowne Children’s Centre is excited to partner with the County of Brant in presenting Outdoor Family Movie Nights this summer. A part of Programs in the Park, the six evening events provide families an opportunity to experience different outdoor facilities across Brant County, beginning in Paris, at Lions Park on June 23.
FULL MOVIE NIGHT SCHEDULE POSTER BELOW - SCROLL DOWN...
Each event begins in the evening, inviting families to bring blankets and chairs and claim their patch of lawn for a comfortable outdoor viewing experience. The feature films are expected to begin at dusk.
Renee Cochrane is the Family Engagement Coordinator with Lansdowne Children’s Centre, and has been part of the teams working to re-engage Lansdowne client family events.
“This is a great opportunity to get into the community in the County of Brant, inviting our client and staff families to be a part of a very inclusive and accessible event. We’re excited to be part of the presenting sponsors, and to be on site and available to families with questions about our services.”
Lansdowne will be bringing print materials for families attending the community events, including a Milestones Matter checklist poster that helps guide parents in what to watch for as their child develops new skills and abilities.
“The development checklist provides key markers for parents to watch for in their child’s progress. It’s not an exhaustive list. It highlights the most common red flags to give caregivers, especially first time caregivers, a starting place to ask questions.”
Lansdowne is also promoting the opportunity for families to visit their website, as new online resources continue to be shared. Lansdowne has invested in the development of virtual tools and education opportunities in an effort to support the growing number of families waiting for assessment or service.
Lansdowne Children’s Centre is one of the province’s SmartStart Hubs, providing a one-stop solution for parents and caregivers with concerns or challenges with a child’s communication, developmental or physical abilities. With a booming population in the region of Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk, Lansdowne has been fielding an unprecedented wave of new referrals for child development services, and now operates locations in Brantford, Simcoe, Caledonia and Dunnville.
