Ahead of the return to school, Family Engagement at Lansdowne Children’s Centre hosted a special school-ready experience, Bertie the Bus, coinciding with the Autism Services’ Entry to School graduation. Representatives from Lansdowne Children’s Centre were at the King George Road Dairy Queen location on August 13 for Miracle Treat Day. Locally, the day serves as a fundraiser for McMaster Children’s Hospital, with the net proceeds of every Blizzard being donated.

Recently, Lansdowne Children’s Centre hosted two graduation services for its Entry to School participants. This program serves as a bridge to kindergarten for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Families registered with Ontario Autism Program (OAP) are selected and invited by the government agency to participate in the program, hosted by Autism Services at Lansdowne’s Brantford site.

As a Living Library presenter, your role is to be an open and welcoming “book,” sharing your story, insights, or knowledge through casual conversation. Your audience - exclusively our Lansdowne Children's Centre team members - will have the opportunity to “borrow” you for a short discussion, ask questions, and learn from your experiences in a comfortable, respectful and interactive setting.
