Is there a paper form for collecting offline fundraising donations (cash and cheques)?

Yes! Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll can provide a PDF document to registered fundraisers that can be printed at home and used to record and collect offline donations like cash and cheques. We recommend that anyone looking to use debit or credit please be directed to your online fundraising  web page, and use the available Zeffy platform that is safe and secure for transactions.When you collect cash and/or cheque donations, please bring your completed printed form and monies to the event on September 26 and provide these to the registration desk. We will add your recorded donations to your online amounts to recognize your total donations collected.Donations over $20 can receive a donation gift receipt from Lansdowne Children's Centre, provided that required contact information is required (ie. email address, and/or mailing address).If you require a paper form and have not yet received a fundraising support email with the PDF attached, please reach out to Ashlyn by email: agladman@lansdownecc.com Thank you!

Who can attend Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll in Brant Park?

There are no limitations to attendance! Lansdowne Children's Centre invites children of all ages, families, organizations and teams to explore Heroes Walk and Roll in Brant Park. We hope the experience provides greater meaning to you of what Lansdowne Children's Centre does for local families, and helps you appreciate the importance of our fundraiser to continue to power programs and services helping infants, children and youth in our community to realize their potential!

What can you tell me about parking? Is there a cost? Is it close?

Yes, there is on site parking. No, there is no added cost for you to park at the venue. The available parking lots across from the Grand Pavillion picnic area (where Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll is located inside Brant Park, Brant Conservation Area), are packed gravel. There is room for accessible parking and a small walk (maybe, 200m) to the grassy grounds around the pavillion where the attractions will be set up.

What does it cost to attend Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll activities?

Accepted Answer

In 2026, registration to attend Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll is required. Participants can pre-register online at www.heroeswalkandroll.com or register at the event on the day. Registration is based on "pay what you can" as a donation in support of Lansdowne Children's Centre. Participants are encouraged to collect pledges through fundraising to enhance their contributions, but this is not mandatory to enjoy the activities and attractions.

How long is the walk? What is the route? What are the path conditions?

Accepted Answer

Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll takes place inside Brant Park/Brant Conservation Area, at 119 Jennings Rd in Brantford, Ontario.  The walk begins at the Grand Pavillion grassy picnic area where the event festivities and attractions are set up, and proceeds to an asphalt roadway that loops behind the picnic grounds and returns to the starting point. There is a small gradient (hill) that walkers descend at the beginning, and ascend when they return. The total distance is about 1-kilometer. There is no competition for speed to complete the walk. It is a group activity to show solidarity and community in support of Lansdowne Children's Centre programs and services. We are all Lansdowne Heroes in fundraising to power life changing programs for infants, children and youth with physical, communication and/or developmental additional needs, and their families.

Can I bring my dog to Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  Brant Convervation Area (Brant Park) permits dogs in the park and at Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll provided that they are on a leash and under the supervision of the owner/caregiver. You are also responsible to please clean up any dog waster (ie. they poop, you scoop).

Can I bring a wagon or bicycle on the Heroes Walk and Roll?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  We see families and teams bring walkers, carriages, strollers, wagons and other assistive mobiltiy and carrier devices to help navigate the Lansdowne Heroes Walk and Roll.  If you choose to bring a self-propelled, wheeled device (ex. scooter, small bicycle, skateboard) to roll, we ask that you please be careful and considerate of others; do not zoom, race or weave through other walkers and participants.  If you are on an independent self-propelled wheeled device you must wear a helmet. Additional safety equipment is recommended and at the discretion of parents/caregivers.

Question 11

Will there be food and refreshments provided at Heroes Walk and Roll?

Accepted Answer

We recommend you plan to bring a water bottle and snacks to the event. There will be vendors providing some refreshments and food items for sale, but at this time there is no formal concession stand or Food Truck available.
