Become a "Book" in Lansdowne's Living Library

Lansdowne Children's Centre is seeking persons with a story to tell

As a Living Library presenter, your role is to be an open and welcoming “book,” sharing your story, insights, or knowledge through casual conversation. Your audience - exclusively our Lansdowne Children's Centre team members - will have the opportunity to “borrow” you for a short discussion, ask questions, and learn from your experiences in a comfortable, respectful and interactive setting.

What is a Living Library?

A Living Library is a unique event where people become the “books.” Instead of reading about a topic, the audience engages in meaningful, small-group conversations with presenters who share their lived experiences, expertise, passions, or personal stories.

What stories are we looking for?

Your story does not need to be fancy or huge. Lansdowne's presentation format provides 15-minutes for your story, and 5-minutes for open questions.

The best stories are true, honest, and close to your heart. We are seeking real connections to stories about facing adversity in your personal journey.

  • A challenge you faced

  • A barrier you beat

  • A big lesson you learned

  • Your community or identity

  • A time your view changed

  • A path of growth or strength
