Autism Services at Lansdowne Children's Centre is offering new workshops and events for families and caregivers of children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder this fall in Brantford.


Here's a quick preview of what's coming up this Fall...


Autism Services Workshops and Events


What is ABA? Workshop

A virtual workshop for parents will be held September 29, 12:30-2:30

Have your questions answered by Behaviour Therapists and learn more about Applied Behavior Analysis and ways it can be used and how it has changed over time.


Strategies and Tips for Managing Behavior

A virtual workshop for parents to be held October 6th, 10:00-12:00

presenting a learning opportunity featuring tips and strategies to manage behaviour.


Toileting Workshop

An in-person event at Lansdowne Children's Centre in Brantford, September 20th and November 15th, 12:30-2:30

This 2-hour workshop presents a learning opportunity about toilet training strategies and tips tried and tested by Autism Therapists.


Make and Take Visuals Workshop

An in-person October 4th and Dec 13, 10:00-12:00

This 2-hour workshop offers learning about the benefits of using visuals in teaching, proactive behaviour management, and rewards for children of all ages with an ASD diagnosis. Attendees will have a chance to make their own visuals to take home.


Language and Communication Workshop

A virtual workshop to be held in November TBD, 10:00-12:00

Presenting an opportunity to learn about language and communication for children with a diagnosis of Autism from a Speech and Language Pathologist and Autism Therapists.


OAP Information Workshop

Virtual workshops held monthly

This monthly learning opportunity is a great introduction for parents of children with a new ASD diagnosis or a refresher for Ontario Autism Program paperwork, applications, processes and other resources available to families.


Registration for these and other new activities and events will be available online in September.
