The Autism Therapist provides treatment services to Children/Youth 1:1 and in small groups. The incumbent offers consultations, workshops and trainings to assist clients and their families. The Autism Therapist reports to the Clinical Supervisor (BCBA/BCaBA).
• Promotes the dignity, respect and wellbeing of each client and their families
• Implements individual treatment plans as approved by the Clinical Supervisor
• Organizes and leads therapeutic groups
• Provides treatment sessions in coordination with family, school and other services
• Researches and develops parent training materials and resources
• Documents treatment plans, strategies and data
• Reports and responds to health care needs of clients
• Follows all health and safety protocols
• Establishes good rapport with children, families, and involved professionals
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• College Diploma relevant to working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism and Behaviour Sciences preferred)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) preferred
• Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Previous experience working with children with special needs.
• Valid Driver’s License and access to a Vehicle preferred
• Use variety of software (word, excel, zoom)
• Communicate effectively
• Able to work in an environment that requires concentration and repetitive physical movements
• Ability to flex daily schedules and provide treatment to clients
