Brantford/Brant County - Haldimand/Norfolk County - Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation - Six Nations of the Grand River - Other Region of Ontario AUTISM SERVICES All Services Index AUTISM SERVICES Goal-Based ABA Therapy, Birth to 18 years old What is Goal Based ABA therapy? Goal Based ABA therapy focuses on the unique, specific goals of your child that can be addressed in 1 - 8 hours per week. Depending on your goal(s), service can be delivered in multiple ways: 1:1, groups, and workshops, with an emphasis on parent/caregiver training/consultation. Who is eligible? Goal based ABA therapy is available for children/youth, age birth to 18 years, with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis. A screening process will be applied to confirm eligibility for this program, including registration with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP). The reduction of challenging behaviours, including aggression to self or others, will not be a specific goal area addressed within this program. How it Works? When a space is available, a clinician will call you to arrange an appointment. Your child/you will receive an individualized assessment. Both your assessment and treatment will be supervised by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). There will be emphasis on parent involvement and training, for parents to feel confident in continuing with skill building when treatment is done and to feel comfortable sharing their skills with people in a variety of environments. Treatment will be provided at a location most suitable for your selected goals, including Lansdowne Children's Centre (at 39 Mt. Pleasant St., Brantford), your home or in the community. Additional costs for mileage and travel time apply for home or community locations. Eligibility Start Referral Goal Based ABA is available for children/youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, of 6 years and older. Registration with OAP is not required but is recommended. Goals, Skills and Keywords Expectations Some common goals in this program include (but are not limited to): •Attending appointments •Social interactions •Toileting •Personal hygiene •School and job readiness •Language •Communication •Independent living skills, such as dressing or eating with a utensil If you don’t see your specific goal, please ask us. Starting at $185/hour as of May 1, 2025 Autism Services program fees are inclusive of the in-program time, indirect supervision by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), report writing and prep-work that occurs before and after each program appointment. You will only be contacted by Lansdowne to be offered a spot in an FFS program if you have communicated that you currently meet the following eligibility criteria: Your child is a registered client with Lansdowne Children's Centre Autism Services You currently have funding available to purchase the minimum contract amount (1 hr/week for 3 months, $2220) or have scheduled your determination of needs meeting with AccessOAP What is an Intensive ABA program? The Lansdowne Children's Centre Intensive ABA program is a fee-for-service therapy intended for children ages 0 to 12 years. This Autism Services program teaches your child essential skills and management of challenging behaviours. Learn More What is a Goal-based ABA program? The Lansdowne Children's Centre Goal-based ABA program is a fee-for-service therapy available to children and youth ages newborn to 18 years. This program helps your child to reach their unique goals in a series of weekly appointments, delivered in a mix of 1:1, groups and workshops, with an emphasis on parent/caregiver training/consultation. Learn More What happens after FFS registration? After your completed form is submitted you will receive an automated email confirmation. Next, one of our family support workers will review your updated registration and determine if you meet the required criteria to begin a fee-for-service ABA program with Autism Services. For those on the "Ready to Go" list... When your program has availability you will receive an offer of service email from Lansdowne, delivered to the email address currently on file with us from your most-recent registration form. This offer will include an an expiry date. Please respond to the offer with urgency. Failure to respond and complete the acceptance form before the expiry date will result in forfeit of your child's priority in the wait list. You will be required to restart the process again with a new registration form. Core Clinical Funding typically expires after 12-months. Accepting services from another provider will not impact your access to any Autism Services at Lansdowne Children's Centre.

If you believe the resolution is not sufficient, you may request the concern be elevated to the attention of Executive Director. Lansdowne is looking for skilled volunteers, passionate about the services and programs supporting our region's children and youth. If you prefer a printed application form, click here for a PDF version Board Member Application Board Member Eligibility Members (and therefore, applicants) must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must undergo background checks [police and Child & Family Services of Grand Erie] Connection with Lansdowne Children's Centre as a past client, client family or caregiver is beneficial, but is not a prerequisite for consideration. The Board of Directors for Lansdowne Children’s Centre has a maximum of 16 voting members, and an Ex-Officio appointed Medical Director. Your Board Committment Board members are required to attend monthly meetings, typically during midday. The Board meets as a united group on alternating months. Committees meet as sub-groups on alternate months and as scheduled. Board membership requires participation on a Committee. One Board member also serves as a liaison to Lansdowne Children's Centre Foundation Board Participation and attendance at Centre and community functions, including Lansdowne Foundation events, is valued but not mandatory. Application Questions With a priority on diversity, equity and inclusion, our Governance Committee is seeking representation and participation from across our catchment area, including Brantford, Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk counties, Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Lansdowne services are mainly funded by the Ontario government, Hamilton Health Sciences, the City of Brantford and community grants, donations and fundraising.
