Intensive ABA therapy treatment is 6+ hours and/or a minimum of 3 scheduled appointments per week. Treatment is primarily provided at a 1:1 - child to therapist - ratio, with daily opportunities for interaction and play with peers. Children will be taught essential skills and the management of challenging behaviours, working across several developmental domains, including: • Language • Communication • Play • Social interactions • Personal hygiene • Toileting • School-readiness Who is eligible? Intensive ABA therapy is available for children/youth, age birth to 12 years, with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis. A screening process will be applied to confirm eligibility for this program, including registration with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP). Eligibility Start Referral Intensive ABA is available for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, up to age 6 years old. Registration with OAP is not required but is recommended. Starting at $185/hour as of May 1, 2025 Autism Services program fees are inclusive of the in-program time, indirect supervision by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), report writing and prep-work that occurs before and after each program appointment. Contact Us more about FFS program registration When you complete the FFS program registration form, based on your responses you will be added to one of two lists for Autism Services: "Waitlist- Does not meet criteria" or "Ready to Go-Meets criteria". You will only be contacted by Lansdowne to be offered a spot in an FFS program if you have communicated that you currently meet the following eligibility criteria: Your child is a registered client with Lansdowne Children's Centre Autism Services You currently have funding available to purchase the minimum contract amount (1 hr/week for 3 months, $2220) or have scheduled your determination of needs meeting with AccessOAP What is an Intensive ABA program? The Lansdowne Children's Centre Intensive ABA program is a fee-for-service therapy intended for children ages 0 to 12 years. This Autism Services program teaches your child essential skills and management of challenging behaviours. Learn More What is a Goal-based ABA program? The Lansdowne Children's Centre Goal-based ABA program is a fee-for-service therapy available to children and youth ages newborn to 18 years. This program helps your child to reach their unique goals in a series of weekly appointments, delivered in a mix of 1:1, groups and workshops, with an emphasis on parent/caregiver training/consultation. Learn More What happens after FFS registration? After your completed form is submitted you will receive an automated email confirmation. Next, one of our family support workers will review your updated registration and determine if you meet the required criteria to begin a fee-for-service ABA program with Autism Services. For those on the "Ready to Go" list... When your program has availability you will receive an offer of service email from Lansdowne, delivered to the email address currently on file with us from your most-recent registration form. This offer will include an an expiry date. Please respond to the offer with urgency. Failure to respond and complete the acceptance form before the expiry date will result in forfeit of your child's priority in the wait list. You will be required to restart the process again with a new registration form. Core Clinical Funding typically expires after 12-months. Accepting services from another provider will not impact your access to any Autism Services at Lansdowne Children's Centre.

CONCERNS • If you have any concerns, we encourage you to first discuss your concern with the involved staff member. • If you are not fully satisfied, or are uncomfortable discussing this with the staff member, or wish further discussion, please bring your concern to the attention of the staff members’ Supervisor. This may be done in person, by telephone, in writing, or you may also request a meeting with the Supervisor. The Supervisor will acknowledge the complaint within one working day of receiving notification. • If you believe the resolution is not sufficient, you may request the concern be addressed with our Executive Director. This may be done in person, by telephone, in writing, or you may also request a meeting with the Executive Director. The Executive Director will acknowledge the concern within one working day of receiving notification. • The Executive Director may call a meeting of the relevant parties to assist with problem solving. The group will discuss the concern, collect information, if necessary, and explain what they think can be done about the concern. The group may schedule an appointment for you to attendto discuss the concern as appropriate to the situation. There may also be follow up by sending information to you in writing. • The decision of the Executive Director will be final and binding on the Centre and the client/ family. • All concerns that result in a meeting with the Executive Director will be reported to the Professional Advisory Committee at its next regularly scheduled meeting. Brantford/Brant County - Haldimand/Norfolk County - Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation - Six Nations of the Grand River INFANT & CHILD SUPPORTS All Services Index INFANT & CHILD SUPPORTS Developmental Pediatrician Dr. Ben Klein is a Developmental Paediatrician whose practice operates in the Lansdowne Children's Centre in Brantford. Developmental paediatricians work closely with other health professionals, as well as teachers, parents, day care workers and other care providers to help develop strategies to deal with the different concerns a child might be having. In certain cases, a diagnosis is needed to access additional services like behavioural therapy, funding support etc. Developmental paediatricians are doctors who specialize in child development. Eligibility Start Referral Lansdowne Children's Centre clients receiving other services are eligible to have an assessment completed by the Developmental Paediatrician. Referrals can be requested by Lansdowne service providers working with the client and their family. Referrals can also be made by community-based physicians. Goals, Skills and Keywords Expectations Once a referral to the Developmental Paediatrician has been completed you will be contacted by Lansdowne Children's Centre to arrange a date/time for an assessment. You and your child will meet at Lansdowne with the Developmental Paediatrician where general information sharing and informal and standardized evaluation will occur to determine your child’s abilities and needs. The doctor will talk with you about your concerns and ask a lot of questions about your child and their development. This may include questions about the pregnancy and birth, early development such as babbling, first words, gestures, social skills (joint attention, smiling), play skills and interests, behaviours, motor skills and overall medical health. You may be asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding your child’s development. If your child is daycare - or school-aged, then information may also be collected from caregivers and teachers. Additional reports from other therapists your child may be seeing (resource educator, early childhood consultant, speech and language pathologist, psychologist, occupational therapist) will also be collected and interpreted. Depending on your child’s challenges, the developmental paediatrician will interact with and observe your child playing and/or ask them to participate in some play-based evaluations. The developmental paediatrician will use these evaluations in combination with the history to assess your child and determine their developmental needs. Developmental paediatricians work closely with other health professionals, as well as teachers, parents, day care workers and other care providers to help develop strategies to deal with the different concerns a child might be having.
