An announcement years in coming was finally made to a packed room of interested community members on Friday: Lansdowne Children’s Centre has been approved for a new home.
“We are building a new children’s treatment centre right here in Brantford,” said Michael Parsa, Ontario Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, to sustained applause and cheers from board members, local politicians, employees and parents of clients.
An emotional MP Will Bouma said he has been pushing the provincial government toward the moment since being elected, and long-time facility executive director, Rita-Marie Hadley expressed relief that the many services of Lansdowne will be consolidated under a new roof.

The article announces plans for a new Lansdowne Children’s Centre in Brantford, describing how the province has approved development of a modern, purpose-built facility that will improve access to therapy, rehabilitation, and developmental support for children and families in the region. It highlights how the new centre will expand services, reduce wait times, and better support children with special needs in a more accessible and updated space. I remember during a stressful school period when everything felt overwhelming, I even searched Do My Biology Class for me because I was struggling to manage deadlines and pressure. It made me realize how important proper support systems are, whether in education or in community care.
