    Brantford/Brant County - Haldimand/Norfolk County - Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation - Six Nations of the Grand River PHYSIOTHERAPY All Services Index PHYSIOTHERAPY School-Based Physiotherapy (SBRS-PT) School Based Rehabilitation Services [SBRS] include Occupational Therapy [OT], Physiotherapy [PT] and Speech Therapy [ST] for speech needs and is provided to school-aged children in their publicly-funded schools. Eligibility Start Referral Children attending publicly funded schools who meet eligibility criteria can receive OT and PT from school entry. SBRS speech therapy can be initiated in senior kindergarten (SK) for children with articulation, fluency or voice concerns. SBRS referrals can be initiated by Lansdowne Children’s Centre community-based therapists or schools with consent from parents/guardians. Goals, Skills and Keywords Expectations Once a referral is received, your child may be placed on a waitlist. You will be contacted by an intake coordinator when your turn comes, for an update of your child’s information. The SBRS therapist will then contact you to explain the assessment process, obtain your consent and let you know the date of assessment, which will take place at school. Once assessment has been completed you will be contacted to review the findings, develop goals and determine the plan of intervention following our care pathways. He is currently experiencing his second year of high school and is super creative and talented. His goal is to be a game designer when he grows up. He also loves to try out voice impersonations. He is a sponge and loves to learn, is compassionate, loving, caring, and funny. He is eager to help those around him. Many of Isaias's success can be attributed to the years of time spent with Lansdowne Children's Centre. Gabriel is currently 13 years old (going on 14 this summer). He is preparing for grade 9 this coming September. Gabriel, much like his brother is a sponge and enjoys learning. Constantly pushing himself to meet goals. His dream is to become a paleontologist. Gabriel is outgoing, funny, caring and loving. Like his brother Isaias, Lansdowne has been a huge puzzle piece in propelling Gabriel forward to the success he is today! Isaias and Gabriel are not only brothers but best friends. Isaias is full of facts and can grab your attention in an instant to teach you all about something. He has mad dance skills and is just as talented at yoga! Gabriel is very thoughtful and it shows in everything he does from a kind word to a creative project. He loves dinosaurs and it would be impossible to stump him on any dinosaur-related information! The care and support they show each other is heartwarming and they will offer that same support to their peers. Gabriel is always there to give a friend an uplifting compliment during a creative project and Isaias can always recognize when someone is feeling down and needs a friend. “The Brothers” can always be relied on to bring their contagious enthusiasm to any activity or event!     Brantford/Brant County - Haldimand/Norfolk County - Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation - Six Nations of the Grand River - Other Region of Ontario AUTISM SERVICES All Services Index AUTISM SERVICES Caregiver-Mediated Early Years Program Autism Services Caregiver-Mediated Early Years programs are no-cost to the family, part of the government funded Foundational Family Services. These play-based and child-led programs for young children, ages 12 months to 48 months, aim to build caregivers’ capacity to support their child’s skill development by teaching strategies that may help their young children learn new skills and meet individual goals. Autism Services Caregiver-Mediated Early Years programs are FREE of charge and teach families strategies that may help their young children learn new skills and meet individual goals. These play-based and child-led programs are for young children, ages 12 months to 48 months, and aim to build caregivers’ capacity to support their child’s skill development. A program is available for a period of up to six-months per child. Who is eligible? • Your child must be a registered member of the Ontario Autism Program (OAP). • Eligible families will receive an invitation from the Ministry via email and/or post mail. • Only families with invitations are able to sign up for the program. If you have received an invitation you can reach our Family Support Worker by phone at 519-753-3153 ext. 268, or by email at autism@lansdownecc.com to plan your service. Eligibility Start Referral 1) Child is Registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) 2) Child is under 48 months of age Goals, Skills and Keywords Expectations Autism Services at Lansdowne Children's Centre will deliver three service option models: Social ABCs; Pivotal Response Training (PRT); and Early Social Interaction/Social Communication Emotional Regulation and Transactional Supports(ESI/SCERTS). Social ABCs This is an early intervention program in which parents learn a set of strategies for helping their Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosed toddler communicate and interact socially, using play-based activities and daily routines that their child finds most motivating. Pivotal Response Training (PRT) A variation of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) type therapy, Pivotal Response Training focuses on more comprehensive “pivotal” areas, such as increasing a child's motivation to learn, initiate communication, and monitor their own behaviors. Early Social Interaction/Social Communication Emotional Regulation and Transactional Supports The ESI/SCERTS model is a research-based educational approach and multidisciplinary framework that directly addresses the core challenges faced by children and persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disabilities, and their families. ESI/SCERTS focuses on building competence in: •Social Communication •Emotional Regulation •Transactional Support These are the highest priorities that must be addressed in any program You Belong Here.     Give Today Ways To Give Meet The Kids Partner Profiles Impact Report Our Board Contact Us < Back TATUM 2022 Recipient of the Terry Fisher Art Award Hi my name is Tatum Wilkes and I am 13 years old. I have been attending Lansdowne Children’s Centre since I was 3 years old when I started with speech therapy. Over the next 10 years I have also participated in the physiotherapy and occupational therapy programs as well as the many Therapeutic Recreation programs such as cooking classes, dance, March break and summer camps and weekend retreats. The support, patience and kindness of the dedicated staff have made my experiences fun and challenging. I really enjoy my time and experiences at Lansdowne and I appreciate the opportunities it has given me. I have been able to increase my strength, develop new skills, build my self-esteem, meet new peers and increase my confidence with social interactions. I am so thankful and appreciative for the chance to be a part of the Lansdowne Children’s Centre. The Recreation programs are a way for me and my peers to enjoy things like camps, sleepovers, dance classes, cooking classes and so much more. It gives every one of us a chance to learn new things and have lots of fun and I mean it…. lots and lots of fun together. We are all given a chance to have fun, be happy and enjoy time with our friends and the Staff. It also gives our parents a break and we all know they need it. Seriously we all know they need it!!!! Am I right or what? I have to say my favorite program is… well I have to think about this one… well I made up my mind I just don't like them… I love them all. It's so hard to choose just one.
