SITE LOCATION/DESCRIPTION

The subject site is located at the southwest corner of Colborne Street West and Welsh Street and has a site area of approximately 3.75 hectares (9.27 acres). The site is currently vacant and has around 86 metres of frontage facing Colborne Street West and 121 metres along Welsh Street.

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

Lansdowne Children’s Centre has owned and occupied the existing centre since 1998 and have now outgrown their facility. The proposed development includes a new centre featuring a three-storey building of approximately 100,000 square feet. The conceptual site plan showcases key viewpoints within the centre and identifies access to the existing community by way of Welsh Street and Colborne Street West. The new facility would be family-centered and community-based, providing multiple therapy services in collaboration with partner agencies and allowing for additional programming. A larger facility also allows more families to be serviced.
